Summary of the preaching
Sunday, January 22, 2023 – Apostle Billey.
Matthew 22:37
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
It is to each one of us that the Lord speaks – and further on, he adds, it is the greatest commandment.
One of the things that complicates relationships with God is not listening to God from the heart.
One of the major problems in our generation is no longer sin, but distraction.
The solution to sin is already there, it is the Lord Jesus through his blood. Distraction is in relation to oneself.
When God speaks, it is to save, to correct, to orientate, to guide…
But if man does not hear the voice of God, he will not change.
Among the most frustrated people in this world, unfortunately, there are Christians, many Christians.
They follow Jesus, but have no experience, they talk about the Lord, but have no real relationship with him.

What does this do? It is because of the way they listen to Jesus.
Champions are slow to win because they do not know how to open their hearts to the Lord when he speaks.
** By listening to the word of the Lord with the head, that is to say with the intelligence – We will ask ourselves several questions, reasonings, reflections on the feasibility of this word.
** Now, listening with the heart, we will see the possibility – because we will look at God’s capacity, remember his power, remember what he has already done and that will open our vision and our understanding.
We need to adjust the way we walk with the Lord. Otherwise we will become and remain religious. Indeed, when one listens to God with the head, one becomes religious.
God himself, in the person of the Holy Spirit, changed the life of Paul, a former murderer, a violent person and a person rooted in Judaism. The Lord is able to change you, to transform you too.
Today we believe that we are successful, that we are rich, because we have a good doctor, a good car, a big house, savings accounts, wealth….
Then the head takes the lead and the thinking plays an important role, but the mind is put behind.
Yet if God is not in front of you to guide you in everything, it will be confusion…
The secret of those who succeeded in the past is that they were serious with the word, they sought to know the heart, the will of God. And they submitted themselves with confidence to his word.
Jesus speaks from his heart – he is the Son of God – and if you want to be a child of God, you must receive his word in you. And when you receive his word, you will be transformed into the image of the son of God.
When God speaks, he does not speak randomly. And whoever wants to succeed on this earth as well as in heaven, he must take the word of the Lord very seriously. He must do everything to receive the word of God in his heart.
The devil’s job is to distract. Many listen to the word with their head, the heart is not engaged.
Many call themselves Christians but are adulterers, fornicators, thieves, liars and angry….
Because what can make them stable is not in them. Jesus is stable and if you receive him, you will also be stable.

Those who will go to heaven are those in whom Jesus is found – by his word.
Listening with the heart puts us in direct contact with the spirit of God.
Mathematics or being an engineer, politician does not change the nature, nor the character of the man, it does not affect the life. The school does not change.
It only develops the intellect.
Men know how to send rockets into space, but they don’t know how to take their souls to heaven.
For their hearts have become hard, they believe only in science and not in the God who created them. The world is full of injustice because hearts are closed to God.
Even some Christians, when the word is preached today, the next day they do not remember it, because the heart is far from God… Someone can work for God, but not love him.
You can’t say you’re a Christian and resist God’s way.

What comes out of God is a treasure.
What connects two married people? These are the words exchanged. Love won’t come if you don’t communicate.
It is the same with God. We must be true to God.

How to love God? By listening to his word.
You can’t love God if you don’t listen to him – communication is essential in a relationship.
The moment you stop communication, you have stopped love.
The first thing to do to love God is to receive his word in your heart.
The Holy Spirit will be able to lead you, you will not have any more frustrations, your vision will be clear.
You don’t need a lot of words. Don’t be confused, because too many messages on Facebook, YouTube, bible on the phone, tablet… But yet no word in your very heart.
Let us change, let us now consider every breath of the Lord and allow the message of Jesus to be written in us.
The word of God is what you need because it is spirit and life.
With one word you can become a champion!

Lord God, you are my God,
You are the Almighty!
May everything in me glorify you,
Let my heart be your home,
Let my body be your temple,
May my thoughts be directed to you forever,
Let your word remain in my heart so that my life may honor you,
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
