Summary of the preaching

Sunday, August 13, 2023 – Apostle Billey.

1 john 1, 1-4

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life –
2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us,
3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

The Lord has endowed us with the word, and in a very powerful way.

It’s through the word that we have everything we have: car, house, job, food… Even when we go to hospital, we need to speak.

To get a lawyer to plead our case – we need to talk. It’s with words that we create division or reconciliation.

In case of fire, you need to use words to ask for help. The devil can never leave your life if you don’t exercise your authority by speaking.

Speech is essential even when greeting someone. Two friends who are together all the time – that means they communicate a lot.

On a human level, then, we can see that speech is powerful. With words, we can build or destroy. It can encourage or discourage. We can discern a person’s power by the way he speaks. Or we can see a person’s weakness or ignorance in what they say.

Speech is therefore a blessing.

If a man’s word is powerful, then what about God’s word?

If the word of a man is primordial/powerful – how much more so the word of God in us?

Many Christians are manipulated because they don’t know their rights.

When a Christian receives God’s word in him – Imagine that Christian’s power – Imagine his ability.

Even a prisoner has the right to speak – how much more so a free man?

Beloved, you must be equipped to do exploits every day.

God speaks to us every day to give us his grace, to lead us, to equip us, to guide us…

When God speaks to us, it’s to connect us to his nature.

What connects us to the Father – what connects us to the Son – is His word.

  • How did David defeat Goliath?
  • How did the Red Sea split open?
  • How did the walls of Jericho fall?
  • How did fire come down from heaven – with the prophet Elijah?

It was through the word.

Indeed, someone believed in God and spoke, and then the miracle happened.

That’s why, when the devil wants to attack someone, he’ll do everything he can to make them forget what God has told them – to make them forget who they are.

Don’t ignore the power of God’s word.

As a child of God, you must take it to heart in order to dominate.

Why is God’s word powerful?

1/The word of God is the breath of God

2 Timothy 3:16 –

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

If I breathe – that breath belongs to me – my DNA is inside.

When we receive the word, God’s DNA is inside.

Anyone who receives God’s word receives God’s breath and is therefore positioned – inspired by God.

2/The word of God is God.

John 1.-1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 It was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

Beloved, consider this:

Where you are, there is also your word – so you can’t separate God from his word.

God’s word is God

And since God is powerful – so is his word.

So when we receive his word, we become powerful.

Indeed, whoever walks with God’s word – walks with God.

It’s the way they listen to the word that makes them powerful.

3/ The word of God is spirit.

John 6.63

It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

The Word of God is powerful because it is spirit. It is not visible physically, but spiritually.

Where do we read the word of Jesus?

It’s written in the book/Bible.

But if you read it as a book, then you get nothing.

But if you read it to take in the spirit, then your soul will be seriously impacted.

The written word/bible is the letter, but what’s inside is spirit – and that’s what you need to grasp.

For example: if God says to you “I am with you” – and you receive this word in your heart – you will rejoice – that’s the spirit.

But if you hear that – you don’t receive, you won’t feel that joy – then that’s the letter.

Beloved, he who knows how to listen to God’s word guarantees his strength every day.

2 Corinthians 3.6

6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

The covenant with God is not of the letter, for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.

You must do everything you can to understand, receive and keep the word within you.

The foundation of a Christian is the word of God.

The word is spirit, which is why it is powerful.

What comes out of God’s mouth cannot be grasped with the physical hand.

But must be received in our hearts so that it can give us strength, courage, life.

Whatever God says, it must give us life – even if it’s to call us to repentance….

For life is within his word.

Through the first brothers in Christ – life continues to flow through the word received.

When you receive the word, you don’t listen like a school class –

When you read the word – it’s not like a novel – otherwise you won’t be edified.

It must be listened to/read as the word of life.

You’re communicating with God and you have to show that you’ve received the letter in your spirit.

And from that moment on, it’s no longer scripture, but it’s the spirit behind the scripture you’re communicating with.

It’s with this received spirit that you fight, that you pray with authority…

He who walks by the letter cannot resist the devil.

Mais But when you walk by the spirit, you will be able to exercise your authority and walk in victory against oppression.

We are spirits.

We are often more sensitive to negative things than to God’s words.

Beloved, you must remember the word as your identity in the face of life’s situations.

The assurance you have when you receive God’s word is your identity.

Your identity is in your heart.

Everything you receive in your heart becomes your identity.

John 1.12-13– when you receive the word, you become a child of God.

The way we listen to God’s word needs to be readjusted.

The word comes from within the heart of God, so that we can receive it in our hearts.

If the word tells you that your life is blessed-or that you are strong-it is so.

Don’t try to feel the strength in you or analyze it – wondering why this or that…

** If God says, you’re strong, you’re strong! Then move swiftly forward with this revelation.

** If the Lord says, I’m with you – see yourself with him and rejoice that he’s with you, because your life won’t be the same.

What can move God is his word in you.

Beloved, move forward and act on the basis of his word.

God’s word is powerful – when we receive it – it becomes powerful in us.
