Summary of the preaching
Sunday, May 28, 2023 – Apôtre Billey.
1 Corinthians 6:17-20
17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
20 For you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
These verses are an opportunity for you to receive this truth so that your story can change completely.
If you know how to connect to the word and stay in it, your enemies will be confused.
There can be no success or victory without Jesus.
The value of our lives is linked to what we know and receive from God. To take what is God’s, you absolutely need the person’s will.
When you choose Jesus, you turn your back on the world.
Any decision we make that takes us away from God is not a good decision.
Without the Holy Spirit, it’s impossible to know Jesus.
The Holy Spirit has come to help us understand the mystery of the cross, the gospel…
He came to reveal all that was hidden.
God is in us – and we need to be aware of this in order to adjust our walk.
When you’re driving and you look in your rear-view mirror and see the police – what are you going to do?
Beloved, you will slow down systematically. But if you didn’t see that police car, you’d just keep driving.
In the same way, being aware of God’s presence within you – will help you to walk with the Lord steadfastly.
However, if you neglect God’s presence within you, you’ll live as you please and unfortunately miss out on far too much.
When you believe and accept that God is within you – that you are God’s dwelling place – God’s temple.
Then you’ll start to see yourself that way – And you need to pray about that truth – And then you’ll see the Holy Spirit move in your life.
Sometimes you’ve seen or heard that people can speak in tongues and then the gift seems to disappear. Or the person’s speaking in tongues seems empty, because the demons don’t even run away when that person speaks.
What causes this is a lack of connection with God. There is no connection with the Lord.
Beloved, your connection with God must be deep, true and firm.
**What should we find in God’s temple? What do you do in a temple, and what don’t you do?
Of course, in a temple, there’s the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
And more:
Joy, peace, love, trust, patience, faith, forgiveness, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, temperance, prayer, praise, thanksgiving, adoration….
All these things are the fruit of God’s presence in the life of a Christian.
So, for example, when you’re not happy, when you’re sad, you should know that the enemy is attacking you.
We must learn to perceive these spiritual truths.
There are some things God won’t decide for you – God will simply speak to you – reveal things to you and then it’s up to you to decide and act accordingly for the glory of his name.
Consider this:
If there’s a Minister of Public Service in your house – and you’re unemployed.
Are you going to wait until he asks if you have a job?
The reality is that the simple fact of being in the same house as him will fill you with joy and confidence about the future of your job. And you’ll be quick to tell him of your need.
That’s violence of spirit.
So beloved, if God is within you, what are you waiting for to benefit from everything that is synonymous with his presence?
God won’t come and pray for you.
You have to stand up and declare – claim the good things of God.
And destroying everything that shouldn’t be in his temple – that’s what we call prayer.
Prayer is based on reality, on truth, on what must be and what God has said, based on what must be destroyed that is not of Him.
This is what it means to “build the kingdom of God”.
When you’re in Jesus, you have to be bold.
If you’re not bold, you’ll be weak and ignorant.
Having knowledge is better than getting all the money and treasure in the world.
The knowledge you acquire will make you bold enough to stand firm in the face of any situation or obstacle.
Every time you ignore something, it means you’re in a position to be manipulated.
Knowledge is power – it’s domination.
Beloved, you must connect and stay connected to God at all times.
Genesis 1.5
God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
A day begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 6 a.m., and continues from 6 a.m. to 5:59 p.m..
Throughout this time, we think about various things, but very little or not at all about God.
For example, during the 8 hours at work – we must learn to stay connected to the Lord.
God didn’t give us birth to be a curse, but a blessing.
If all day you’re with Baal, you can’t connect to God when you get home. The spirit of Babylon in this world is here to oppress us and take away our life, our joy…
We have to change all that – and in Jesus, you have that possibility!
Many Christians don’t succeed because when they’re busy, they forget that they’re with God, that they belong to God, and become polluted by what they see or hear throughout the day.
The temple of God that you are must not become, in the course of the day, a temple of worry, concern and criticism, the temple of Baal…
Putting God aside because of money or other things… It corrupts and negatively affects our lives.
This makes it impossible to pray when we get home in the evenings.
At work or during the day, you must learn to communicate with God throughout the day.
You have to choose what you think – it’s a discipline.
Like many of the greats in the Bible, and even outside the Bible. And it’s your turn to be big.
While you’re out and about, on the subway, in your car, cooking, working, going to an interview, learn to stay connected to the Lord in your heart.
So even after your activity, at the end of the day, you’ll still be connected to God.
Then even when you go to rest – when you go to sleep – communicate with your God, keep talking to him in your heart.
All this is in addition to your usual prayer times and programs.
When Mary was pregnant with Jesus and greeted Elizabeth, John in Elizabeth’s womb flinched. And his mother started talking about Jesus.
How could this baby flinch?
It’s not because of Mary’s voice, but because Mary carried Jesus inside her.
Beloved, Jesus is alive in you – you carry Jesus inside you.
At the mention of Jesus’ name – every knee bends and every tongue confesses that he is Lord.
So victory is available to you, every day – just as it is to overcome every temptation.
God created us to be his temple – it’s his decree – it’s God’s own decision.
And his hand is on each one of us.
What to do?
Consider that you’re not alone, you’re not like the others.
You are God’s temple at all times, every moment – accept that – practice what he tells you.
Rise and bless God.
The way you look at yourself has to change.
The way you walk with God has to change.
Sanctify Jesus above all else.
Exalt him – he is in you.
You carry the glory within you – you were born to walk with God.
It’s time for you to make a radical decision to follow Jesus.
