Ephesians 1
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
Redemption = forgiveness of sins, redemption, deliverance through the blood of Jesus.
Because of the evil and sin in man’s life, Jesus came into this world.
For a human being who sins destroys himself. Self-destruction on all levels: spiritual, emotional, mental…
And he who is spiritually destroyed no longer has a relationship with God.
That’s why it’s difficult for some people to commune with God, spirit to Spirit.
Beloved, to know and understand what Jesus accomplished, we must understand the gravity of sin.
Sin prevents man from conceiving the things of the spirit. The person is then said to be dead.
As human beings, we can’t talk to trees or animals, because we have a higher life.
This life we have is a divine life, which comes from God. And this life is in the body.
For example, we’ve probably already heard the testimonies of people who have died physically and come back to life by God’s grace.
They explain that they could see people, hear and speak, but no one could hear them. Here, it was their spirit that spoke, while the body was on the hospital bed.
Beloved, he who is spiritually dead cannot communicate with God. What’s more, he can never come back to life on his own.
Although physically alive, he is spiritually dead. The body is not life. Life is spiritual.
According to God’s barometer, all those who are more aware of their bodies than their spirits are dead people.
What are the characteristics of a spiritually dead person?
The spiritually dead person continues to exist. He or she gets around, goes to work, buys goods, cars, makes plans, has an agenda…
- Focused on the things of this earth
If your agenda is focused solely on passing things, your spirit is dead.
It is the spirit that is eternal, the material is not eternal.
The reason he is focused on earthly things is because his spirit is no longer in touch with God.
It is through God that man lives. We exist through God.
- The fear
Those who are afraid are no longer connected to God.
God created us with a spirit of strength and authority, not timidity and fear.
In the same way, Adam died when he ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. So where he fell, he started to get scared.
A dead person is filled with fear: fear of tomorrow, fear of not having money, fear of failing, fear of the night, fear of men, of the devil…
- Lack of prayer
The person can no longer pray. Even if he/she tries, it will be difficult, heavy, boring.
It’s a signal that someone is dying, or has already died.
- Impossible to praise God.
Praise is the act of expressing or giving approval, admiration to God.
It’s glorifying the Lord for what He has done or is doing. It’s an expression of humility that focuses our attention on the Lord with a heart full of love.
Then the dead person will eventually be able to sing, but praising God will be difficult. What’s more, he/she can easily sing for the world.
- The lack of God’s word
A dead person has difficulty reading, meditating or retaining God’s word.
And yet he/she’ll be able to read the world’s newspapers and books. It will retain many things but not the word of God.
All mankind must feed on the Word. [Matthew 4.4]
It’s the nourishment of our spirit.
- Distraction
The moment the person decides to go to church or decides to do something for God, everything will disappear. He/she won’t be able to go all the way, she won’t be able to serve God, or even bear witness to God.
As a result, he/she will be filled with bitterness, regret, shame, and vain thoughts or worldly concerns.
It will be easier for that person to watch TV, play video games or spend hours on social media.
- The torment
He who has sinned will be tormented by the devil. And it will steal his concentration, his intelligence. As a result, he’ll lose his memory and have ideas only to do bad things.
- The love of money
The love of money will increase in the person who has died.
His time will be used mainly to look for money, to chase after ephemeral things.
- Instability
When the person lives in an unstable way: spiritual, social, mental instability.
The lack of joy and peace will increase. Probably sadness too. The worries will be inside him.
Beloved, the elements we can find in the life of a dead person are numerous.
Whoever sees such things in himself must run to Jesus. Because he won’t be able to get out on his own.
Romans 6.23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Consider this: in the natural world, for example, anyone who exceeds the speed limit or runs a traffic light will face a penalty, such as paying a fine. He thus pays for the offence he has committed.
When a child acts badly at home at a certain age, his parents can correct him, punish him, i.e. he pays for his action.
At work, anyone who makes mistakes is punished, and this can go as far as dismissal. He’s paying for his mistake.
And with sin it’s the same thing. There’s a sentence. It’s a universal law.
But with sin, the sentence is spiritual. Indeed, the wages of sin is death.
So what can a person do, pay not to die?
Money is not enough, materials are not enough, because we are spirits.
When we sin, it’s not the body that sins, but the spirit.
Sin is very serious. And sin is sin. Even in the lives of young children of understanding age.
It is through sin that the devil puts men in prison, both physically and spiritually.
And the spiritual prison receives all souls who have sinned.
There are people who physically walk this earth but their souls, their spirits, are imprisoned.
This is why they are not blessed, they are tormented because their souls are controlled by the enemy.
This is how the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit established the plan of salvation. And Jesus Christ came to this earth.
Beloved, Jesus, the Lamb of God, paid what was demanded of every sinner. He therefore died to pay the penalty of sin in the life of the sinner.
Without Jesus, it’s impossible to have life. So what should the sinner do?
Be aware that he won’t be able to cope on his own. And run to the Lord Jesus, whatever the evil, however great the evil, to ask Him for forgiveness.
This is how the sin in his life will go away, will be totally erased by the blood of Jesus.
Beloved, when you convert, the blood of Jesus is a treasure.
The blood of Jesus is spiritual, a spiritual weapon that we must perceive and use with the spirit.
The medicine for sin is the blood of Jesus.
IN THE NAME OF JESUS, let us pray… →
Lord, forgive me for all the evil in my life.
Forgive me for all the sins I have consciously and unconsciously committed.
From today I give you my life.
May every sin that was on my life and that the devil uses against me be totally removed from my life.
Have mercy on me, Lord, have mercy on my house in Jesus’ name.
I plead the blood of Jesus on my life.
I thank You, Lord, and I bless You forever.
