Apostle Billey.

Mark 4

35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”

36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.

37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.

38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”

39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm

40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

Did the disciples use their minds or souls in the face of this situation? Their souls.

They were worried about their bodies.

Where does fear develop?

Fear develops in the heart.

This is how the devil manipulates the world. But if you understand that, he won’t be able to have you.

And whatever you’re going to want to do for God, you’re going to be able to do it, even if it’s feeding millions of people, climbing a mountain and so on.

Beloved, when we listen to the wisdom of man, we are no longer able to move forward.

But God doesn’t want us to rely on ourselves, but on Him through our spirit.

Zechariah 4.

6…‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.

God connects with us through our spirit. And so we rise up in spirit and bring our hearts to follow absolutely the Word of God.

How can we overcome the world, fear, anxiety, sadness, the forces of the air that attack our thoughts…?

  • 1/ First, know that you have been redeemed and that you belong to Jesus, spirit, soul and body.

You have to accept that completely. If the soul doesn’t accept this totally, the soul will rise up against God and want to be in charge of itself.

When the spirit says: “Lord, you’re perfect, what you’ve done is wonderful…” and in the heart, it’s not total. These are symptoms of the opposition within you.

This is why God says in :

Proverbs 23.26 My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways.

Matthew 5.8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

Why? Because the last obstacle to God is the heart.

The heart takes all its time to submit to God because of past experience, because of those we love whom God doesn’t, because of our ways…

So for some things, the soul will be afraid, because it doesn’t have all the power to manage the body.

Fear, sadness …. will be present. There are many types of fear: the fear of starting, the fear of undertaking… Here it’s not that the body will perish, but the fear of failing. And this fear will push the man not to start.

  • 2/ Secondly, we must have 100% faith in God in our mind and soul.

The spirit and soul are nourished by the Word of God. It is the Word that gives faith.

Mark 4.

40 Then he said to them, “Why are you so afraid? How can you have no faith?

The disciples lacked faith in their hearts. He wasn’t sure of the outcome.

We must watch over our hearts. Doubt doesn’t come from God, on the contrary, there’s assurance in the heart to be developed. At this level, nothing impresses you, you’re not afraid of anything. Then what you say will be heard by the Lord, thanks to your faith.

John 14.

13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

15 If you love Me, keep My commandments.

God’s will for His children is that we prosper.

But it’s not enough to say I’m blessed, it’s about proving the blessing.

It is God who governs both spiritual and material things. Then it is He who proves your blessing. Everything He says, if you love me, keep my Word. The rest is up to Him.

Prosperity begins with love for God.

For example, if God asks you to pray at 2 a.m., don’t resist. Just remember that you belong to Jesus, and you can get up quickly. And get your soul to pray. And we must not have doubt, distraction in our hearts while we pray.

John 20.

24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.

25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”

Thomas used his soul, he relied on the material to believe.

We don’t have to do this.

When we proclaim that we are blessed, it’s because God is in our spirit and soul and not because of the material.

John 20.

26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!”

27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

Unbelief can therefore be found in the soul.

Consider this:

A missionary had an orphanage. And he used to receive donations to feed the children. One day, the donations stopped. What’s next?

He wasn’t afraid, because right from the start he’d learned to rely on God, to have no doubts.

At lunchtime, he told the children to sit down and asked them to start blessing God for the food.

And just then, they heard a horn honking as the gate was closed. And it was a truck, a person coming to donate food. So they unloaded the truck, and the children were able to eat.

Beloved, faith is not complicated. You already have faith, and what you have is already very good.

You simply have to keep this in mind so that you don’t let yourself be infected by doubt, by what you see.

John 20.

28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him :

29 Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

For example, when we prayed for you. You don’t want to see healing before you confess it. Or to proclaim that you are prosperous and lack nothing.

Whereas the soul will say: “You lack many things…”. You must answer: “I lack nothing, I am complete in Jesus…”.

Does the spirit speak? Yes

Does the soul speak? Yes.

We need to know when the spirit is speaking and when the soul is speaking.

For the disciple Thomas, his soul has spoken. Whereas Jesus spoke with his Spirit.

A Whenever we think or speak of the things of God exclusively then it is that the mind is engaged.

But when we talk about things and the intention of things is connected to the material or relationships, that’s the soul talking.

For example, you’re with friends. And probably all the conversations will be about things in life, business, people you know…that means it’s the soul that’s engaged.

However, you can lead the conversation towards God, for example a testimony based on the Truth of Christ, towards the Word of God, then you can engage the spirit.

And while you’re talking, there should be no fear for friends. For example, if they are not converted, the heart can speak. You may wonder if they’ll listen…

To consider this would be to go backwards.

So even at work, we can walk in spirit. Those who don’t love you, you’ll forgive easily, if you look at them in spirit.

Even the management of our friends must be in spirit in order to lead them to God.

If I’ve made trouble with a brother, and I’m angry with him. I even wish him ill. It means that in my heart, I’ve put him in prison.

Then God won’t be able to visit my heart, my life. What should we do? Forgive.

And even bless him, pray for him. And when I do, God blesses me too.

We must therefore free all those who are imprisoned in our hearts: spouses, brothers, sisters, in-laws, cousins, ex-relatives, colleagues, the president…

The Word says in 1 Corinthians 2:11, that by our spirit, we can know what is in our soul.

Perfect things come from God, let’s look for these things.
