Apostle Billey.
Man was created in the image of God. It’s a spiritual image.
Spirit and soul are in the body. And these two must walk according to what God says.
But if the soul manages relationships and the material without God, the Christian will have no peace.
The soul must pursue God.
In this world, the soul is under attack. For the devil sends his desires into the soul.
The Word of God must be received in the spirit and in the soul. But when we are distracted, the Word is received only in the spirit.
In Daniel 3, the three friends refused to bow down to the statue. They are not compromised.
They were committed, determined to keep their relationship with God.
They were thrown into the furnace and emerged unscathed.
For those who walk with God have God in them, so the fire had no power over them.
A Christian must walk in the spirit, whatever the situation in front of him. You have to see yourself as belonging to God.
The devil always tries to transfer fear to man. And if the person accepts the fear, the devil will control that person.
Consider this:
One couple had been married for over 25 years. One day, the husband came to tell his wife that he wanted to separate, that he was tired of their relationship and didn’t love her anymore.
The woman didn’t start crying, she took it in spirit and got on top of it.
She replied in spirit, “My husband, I love you.”
This totally discouraged the husband, who thought his wife was going to give him a hard time.
But in spirit she continued to be gentle with her husband. And the Lord gave her victory.
A few days later, her husband came to ask her forgiveness.
In Daniel 6, the same thing happened with Daniel, and the glory of the Lord was again powerfully manifested.
Daniel remained in government despite the succession of kings. God kept him there, for he was the light God used to speak to these kings.
Daniel 6
7 All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.
8 Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.”
10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
Daniel prayed three times a day.
That’s what a Christian should do. Have a consistent prayer life.
It’s important to note that today we don’t need to go to Jerusalem to be baptized, to take the salt, the oil…
Nor do we need to physically look for the direction of Jerusalem from our rooms.
We are in the New Covenant, God is with us wherever we are.
Daniel 6
11 Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
12 And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king’s decree: “Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?” The king answered and said, “The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.”
13 So they answered and said before the king, “That Daniel, who is one of the captives from Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.”
These men did everything they could to surprise him and went to see the king.
Which means that the law was probably designed to go against Daniel.
But why?
These men knew that Daniel walked by the spirit, that he was a man of prayer.
They had seen that God was with Daniel. And they wanted to separate Daniel from his God, to forbid him to pray. So that he weakens, so that he no longer receives inspiration from his God, so that he cannot maintain his position
Beloved, we must stand on the Rock and maintain a constant prayer life.
The Christian’s prayer life is under constant attack from the devil. It seeks to attack your concentration in prayer.
When it’s time to pray, we need to put everything aside and focus on the Lord.
You have to be in spirit with God. He who stands on the rock and prays is continually strengthened.
Daniel 6
16 So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.”
20 And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
21 Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever!
22 My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.”
23 Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.
When the lions looked at Daniel, they saw their creator in him. God was in Daniel.
And when Daniel looked at the lions, he looked according to the eyes of God, he knew that God rules. He was not afraid; he was aware of God’s presence within him.
Walking in the Spirit is imperative for a Christian.
Victory belongs to those who walk in the spirit.
Christians will be persecuted because their prayer prevents many bad things from happening. And by persecuting Christians, they will be awakening those who were asleep.
And those who were asleep will become men and women of prayer.
Beloved, those who understand this message will be able to live in the spirit and spread the message of the cross around them.
Daniel 6
26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end.
27 He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
Brother, Sister, when you live in the Spirit, you give glory to God. For you give God permission to use you so that the glory may return to Him.
And he who gives glory to God is always elevated at work, in the community, the nation, and even in the whole world.
In Mark4.35-41, the disciples were panicking in the boat while Jesus slept. When the Lord awoke, he asked them, “Why are you so afraid?”
The Lord Jesus walked in the spirit, he didn’t manage the body, the spirit is eternal.
That’s why stand on the Rock, live in the spirit. Avoid anger, frustration…otherwise it won’t be possible to go to war.
