Apostle Billey.

Luke 10

38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at [k]Jesus’ feet and heard His word.

40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”

41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.

42 But one thing is needed. and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.

We are still standing on the rock, that is, the word on which the church is built.

The church are those who have been redeemed at a great price.

Everything we do, we must lean on the rock.

The rock is spiritual, because life with God is spiritual, not natural.

We cannot physically come to the table with the Lord.

When the Lord speaks of bread, it is on a spiritual level. The table with God is spiritual, and so is the walk.

We eat God’s word, listening and accepting it as food for our souls.

Every time a Christian practices the Word, he or she will experience God and grow.

The experience is very vital and makes you strong. The Holy Spirit allows us to experiment in order to learn lessons.

Those who practice always have something to say for the glory of God.

This heavenly mindset allow you don’t even have to be afraid of failure, because even failure can open doors.

In this passage from Luke 10:38-42. These disciples, Martha, Mary and Lazarus, were reunited with Jesus.

Marthe was busy in the kitchen to receive the Lord with dignity. She must have been right, thinking that what she was doing was the priority. Then she started complaining that her sister wasn’t coming to help her. And she came to see the Lord. However, Jesus called her 2 times v. 41-42.

There are priorities we need to have. Putting God first means listening to him and immediately putting His word into practice. God’s love consists in practicing His word.

No matter what work or activities need to be done, practicing the spoken word must be our priority.

Jesus came to give life, not to eat. So, in this house, that’s what he wanted too, to bring life to these souls, for the whole house to be at his feet to receive the word in order to be restored, enlightened, delivered.

The good part is seeking to understand and practice the Word.

Even in the household, you can cook every day, but that’s not what makes your home strong. But what consolidates is the word, the communication, the relationship.

In fact, physical food is available everywhere. What we can’t find everywhere, however, is what we receive from God in the heart, which you share.

The mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart. We must share what God says.

Luke 10:41 The Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and agitated about many things.

Marthe was restless and worried, thinking she was doing it for God. But God wasn’t in it.

In our homes, we must show that we stand on the rock. So communication in the home will change. Between spouses, with children, with friends, everything will change.

Jesus talked to his disciples about God.

Whoever gives priority to God, shows him his love.

But he who listens and does not practice, is like one who has not even heard, not received.

Luke 6.

46 But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?

47Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like:

48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.

The house that is built is the person’s life. Digging is meditating.

You have to listen with the intention of practicing, not to forget.

Building your life on the rock means practicing.

**If someone calls you and says that following Christ is a lie.

When you hear these slanders, these blasphemies about Christ and you’re weakened by them, it means your life isn’t on the rock.

But if when you hear this, you see this blasphemer as full of evil, of the lies of darkness, and on the contrary you are strengthened and then it is that your life is on the rock.

**If when you have problems, you don’t pray, you don’t go to church, you’re worried. Your life is built on sand.

Luke 6.49 But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation. against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”

Our lives must be built on the rock.

Should someone who prays but has nothing to eat curse God?

If you get a flat tire, are you going to be as discouraged as if your day was a total loss?

By getting frustrated and complaining?

When you’re on the rock, you remain calm in the face of such a situation, with a heart of gratitude to the Lord.

And even when this rock-solid Christian hears negative testimonies from pastors, he stands firm and prays for these people.

Being built on the rock is not just talk, it’s practice.

When faced with a situation, the way you behave will show whether you’re on the rock or not.

Discouragement, despondency, complaining, lukewarmness…all these things show that the person is not on the rock.

Beloved, Jesus is Lord in all circumstances.

Daniel was on the rock, walking with God. Everything he did was in relation to Christ, he was firm in the way of God.

Paul and Silas were the same. God was in them, they were filled with the Holy Spirit but they were thrown into prison. They didn’t complain, they continued to praise God, for all things work together for the good of those who love God. They belong to God. So they knew that even if they were humiliated, it was the business of their owner Jesus. They are not discouraged, because before all this happened, God had already seen. If He allows this to happen, it is for His glory.

Beloved, let us develop the character of firmness. We must stay on the path of Christ, no matter what, at all times.

That’s what Jesus said to Martha.

Luke 6. 42 But one thing is needed. and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.

Let’s stand firm, Jesus is coming back soon.

God’s Word prepares our hearts for the rapture.

The spirit of anger or any other evil spirit cannot withstand the power of the Word.

How do we know that the word penetrates the heart?

It’s simple – you just have to know – what are your priorities? Where do you put your energy?

Are you quicker to eat, cook, go to work… than to take time with God?

We must cry out to God to give him priority. By listening to His word, he convinces, preaches and insists in God’s presence so that he can keep and practice it.

Job 22.28. You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you;
So light will shine on your ways.

Consider this:

When the Lord gives something, for example the revelation of his word. If you lose that, if you don’t keep it, he won’t give it to you as easily. Then you’ll have to work hard to get it back.

Beloved, let us not neglect what God gives us.

Every time we hear the word, and are touched by it, let’s not lose it. The same day, you have to work on it, meditate on it deeply and persistently.

Let’s remember the case of Peter, whom Satan wanted to destroy. Then the Lord Jesus prayed for him.

Luke 22:31-32. Peter didn’t know what was going on in the spiritual world, but the Father was watching over him. However, the Lord revealed to him the plans of darkness so that he would be careful and stay on God’s path.

Brothers and sisters, the priority is God.

Whatever we do, He always comes first. Let’s develop our prayer life by standing on the rock. Let’s practice the word.

Let’s not look for the things of the world. Our hearts must not be set on these things more than Christ.

God wants first place, he has redeemed us and we belong to him.

IN THE NAME OF JESUS, Let Us Pray… →

Lord, I belong to you.

Let your word dwell in my heart.

Let my heart be turned to you.

Help me to be attentive to your word.

May everything in me that fights your word be destroyed.

May everything that slows down the effect of your word in me be crushed.

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
