Apostle Billey.
Matthew 15
8 This people honors me with their lips, But their heart is far from me.
The soul cannot manage the material without the body. That’s why the element the soul uses all the time is the body.
So to do things, the soul uses the body.
The body without a soul is dead. What gives importance to the body is the soul.
Unfortunately, all those who are lost are in the habit of exalting the body. They take up a lot of time just for the body, while the mind and soul get nothing.
Now, when we are in Christ, we must feed our mind and soul with the Word. The body is nourished by physical food and quenched by water. Whereas the water of the soul, of the spirit – this is the Word of God, which is also called the water of Life.
When we end our days on earth, the body stays on earth, and it’s our inner being that goes to heaven.
So what should we do? Maintaining our inner self.
This is why he who has hatred, jealousy… in his heart cannot inherit eternal life.
We must sanctify ourselves because evil cannot go to heaven. Sanctification means resisting all kinds of evil in mind and soul. And it’s usually in the heart that it happens, because it’s the heart that manages the material and relationships.
The heart can therefore be infected by evil. Trouble, for example.
1/ The heart can be troubled and filled with sadness.
2/ the heart can become weak and discouraged.
3/ Pay attention to conversations from the heart.
4/ The heart can be a place that develops evil desires.
When the conversations in a person’s heart are not to the glory of God, that person’s heart will not be able to walk with God. That’s why we need to master the thoughts and desires of the heart.
God doesn’t want evil in our hearts, He shows us what is evil, and it’s our responsibility to remove the evil.
Indeed, it’s up to the owner of a house to clean it, and it’s the person who lives in the room who sweeps it.
For the Christian, 80% of what is wrong in his life comes from his heart. So when there’s evil in the heart, that Christian won’t be able to do what he wants or what God wants.
5/ The heart can be far from God.
If we get this right, the other points above will be easy to adjust.
Matthew 15
8.These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”
What the mouth says must come from the heart.
A person says to the Lord: “Lord, help me…” But in that person’s heart, he thinks God won’t help him, he has doubt in his heart.
But when the Lord listens, He looks first at the intention, at what has not come out of the mouth.
Jeremiah 12:2
You have planted them, they have taken root; they grow, they bear fruit; You are near their mouths, but far from their hearts.
Psalm 78.
36 Nevertheless they flattered Him with their mouth, And they lied to Him with their tongue;
37 For their heart was not steadfast with Him, Nor were they faithful in His covenant.
God did great things for them, but all He got in return was just thanks from the lips not the heart.
We’re so used to saying things that don’t come from our hearts to our brothers and sisters, to those around us. It is with this same heart that we go before God. He sees everything, and we have to correct that.
And by correcting this, even a few minutes of prayer will have an impact. While it’s important to take time with the Lord.
37 For their heart was not steadfast with Him, Nor were they faithful in His covenant.
What does it take to have a steadfast heart?
You have to bring back into your heart a blessing from God, bring to the surface something God has done for you, or for someone around you, or even in the Scripture.
Then you close your eyes and keep your eyes on this blessing, and start thanking Him, praying…
The heart is the place where we meet God.
They were not firm in their hearts, because for them, it was as if God had done nothing for them, they saw misery, God not acting… This kind of heart is a heart of blindness.
Beloved, even the desert in our lives is there for a reason. In other words, anyone who is in the desert and looks around can praise God for the specificity of the desert, for the greatness of God who has allowed such a place to be possible: “Lord, You are too strong, You have created a place where no tree can grow…You are marvelous”. The person doesn’t see the desert as a calamity.
And it’s true that there are even some magnificent photos of deserts in the magazines.
Brother, sister, everything we see should be used to praise God.
All those who develop such a spirit the devil cannot advance against them. For even the evil in front of them will serve to glorify God.
That’s how you build a firm spirit.
Brothers, if God isn’t there, we won’t be there, we’ll just be dust…It’s God’s Presence that sustains us. The one who has only one garment has no right to say that God doesn’t love him or isn’t there. For, the person must not look at the covering of the body but at the riches of God in his spirit.
This is how God develops heroes, conquerors.
What weakens the Christian’s spirit is when there’s a lot of lamenting, a lot of personal desires.
And when personal desires aren’t fulfilled, your soul will start to lament. But your spirit loves God, so there will be conflict between your soul and your spirit.
And all this does not allow the Lord to act.
A born-again person must see God’s blessings even in the wilderness.
And this perception helps forge the Christian’s spiritual character, and develop the heart into one that doesn’t complain but always gives glory to God.
A spirit that knows how to praise God, to the point where it becomes its attitude/ habit, this Christian will grow easily before God.
He will become “the man after God’s own heart”.
Beloved, you must become one because you are on the way
When someone has done something wrong, instead of insulting them, you can tell them it’s not a big deal, you’ll work it out.
If someone takes your car and breaks your tire, instead of deciding never to give them your car again, you control yourself. And tells her it’s okay, maybe it would have happened with you too.
You see things as God sees them.
If you have a small dish but you’re hungry, don’t think it’s small. You have to look with the eyes of God, see the dish sufficient and you content yourself with thanksgiving.
Even when you’re sick, it’s important how you look at yourself. Don’t see yourself as if you’re going to die, but see this as an instrument to show God’s greatness.
And when God sees this in you, He will rejoice and say, “This is my son, this is my daughter, he/she loves me very much…”
Beloved, it is important not to waste our trials, for they are gold mines for us.
Whatever the ordeal, your attitude and behavior speak for themselves.
You must never give up, never feel defeated. Because God, your Father, has never abandoned you. You have to talk, think of yourself as a hero. You’re a hero, a conqueror, don’t think of yourself as defeated. Even in the desert don’t see yourself abandoned.
God has never done anything bad; everything He does is good. This is why it is written in Romans 8. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
