Apostle Billey.
John 3
1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
Nicodemus came to Jesus based on the miracles he had seen with his heart. He came and spoke from the heart. This meant that his mind was practically dead.
So Jesus asked him to be born again.
For if he had been born again, he would not have asked these questions but would have come in a spirit of adoration, and prayer. He would have seen and spoken in the spirit: “God has visited the world in His goodness, It is now possible to have sins taken away for the Son of God is among us, the blind see, the deaf hear…”
Beloved, Christians who do not understand these truths will walk with their hearts, which will lead them to walk easily according to the flesh.
Then you have to engage your mind and make your soul submit to God’s Word.
As Christians, we need to know these things so that the Holy Spirit can direct us in grace and in a high dimension. We must master our souls.
There are men of God who have been disqualified because they received offerings. But in reality, it’s because the enemy had seen that in their hearts was the love of money, so he was able to trap them.
John 3
5 Jesus answered, ” Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
In our time, someone can be baptized in the Holy Spirit, and speak in tongues but lose that in a week.
Why?
Because in the soul of a person, there is flesh. And he lets himself be ruled by the flesh, so this Christian cannot go forward until he renounces the things of the world.
John 6
24 when the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they also got into boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
25 And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did You come here?”
26 Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.
For all those people, all the efforts, all the sacrifices they made to search for Jesus all the way to Capernaum?
It came from their hearts, for they had eaten bread through Jesus.
John 6
27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”
So what is this food that everyone has to look for?
The Word of God. And It is Spirit.
So what should have driven these people to seek Jesus was the Word. What they had heard and wanted to hear more.
If this was the case, then they would have been driven by their spirit to seek Jesus.
What were they supposed to do?
They had to ensure that the desires of their hearts will not take over the spirit.
And that’s how you become a hero, a pastor, a minister, a president of God, a king like David-the man after His own heart…
By practicing the Word, we become what God wants us to be.
David in his heart did not seek God for the material. He trained his soul in the things of God. So whenever something wanted to get into his soul that wanted to take God’s place, he immediately dealt with it.
He watched over her heart all the time.
Even the pastor who doesn’t watch his heart can go to hell.
When the church grows and the crowd goes to lift it up with all kinds of compliments.
What will happen to his heart?
He risks thinking in his heart that he is important, that he is great, that he is superior to other pastors…
What created this?
The seed of Christians. Their words are seeds.
So if the pastor doesn’t know his heart, he’ll be rejected.
The people who were looking for Jesus because of the loaves ran to Him. And they acted as if they loved Him. They hadn’t understood that Jesus is God. Jesus discerned the desires of their hearts.
They had come because of the desires of their hearts, not the spirit. It’s already flesh here.
Ten days before Pentecost, Jesus asked these disciples to stay put. He didn’t tell them how many days to wait before the Holy Spirit came.
Which means they have to die to themselves, thinking only of God and not of themselves.
Their desire to receive what the Father promised was not only in their minds, but also in their hearts.
If it wasn’t in their hearts, they’d have gone home on the first night. Because the heart was going to say, “There’s no air conditioner, go home and in the morning you’ll be back, you’re hungry, you’re tired, as you don’t know when He’s coming – go home and rest two days later you’ll be back…”
Beloved, you must master your soul.
The one who does not master his soul, be it a shepherd or a sheep, can easily fall into the love of money, the lust of women, pride, in baseness of all kinds…
And this will lead to all kinds of gossip about this pastor’s life, as the devil will seek to humiliate him. And so the sheep will scatter. All to the devil’s advantage.
Brothers and sisters, every time a Christian recounts what the devil has done, he is unknowingly giving him the glory. What we need to do instead is pray for that brother, sister or pastor.
To give glory to God is to bear witness to His blessings. So when we talk about the bad things in a person’s life, it’s the devil we’re glorifying.
When the soul is sick, the person is sick.
But when the soul is healed, the person becomes victorious.
This is why it is written:
Proverbs 23.26 My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways.
Proverbs 4.23 Guard your heart above all else, for from it come the springs of life.
1 Peter 1.15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts,…
Why is this so?
He who knows his heart and gives to the Lord. He will be able to resist the works of the devil, everything evil, because he will know how the devil works.
Do we know that there are people who seek God because of material things? Because of the desires of their hearts?
And anyone with such an attitude will be going round in circles.
This attitude can still be seen in someone who has just been converted, because he doesn’t yet know. That’s understandable.
But the Christian who has been converted for 1 or 2 years and continues to act in this way, will go round in circles. He’ll go from frustration to frustration.
Beloved, let us adjust our minds as well as our souls in the things of God.
Every time you pray, you have to watch your thoughts, your heart. Make sure your thoughts are turned toward God.
To pray wholeheartedly is to engage your spirit and heart as one.
The one who will bring his thoughts to submit to His Word. God will give him His Power because He trusts him.
IN THE NAME OF JESUS, Let Us Pray… →
Lord Jesus, I am yours.
Fill me with Your Presence.
Lord, occupy your temple.
Occupy everything in me.
