Ezekiel 37

11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!

The Lord opened the prophet’s eyes and shows him things in spirit. He asked her:

Ezekiel 37.3 He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live again? I answered, “Lord Jehovah, you know.

The prophet answered according to the spirit, he looked not to his ability but to God’s: “Lord Eternal, You know it.” – He means the answer is in You, Lord.

It was a vision that the Lord showed, it was the spiritual state of the people of Israel.

Still, people came and went, going about their business.

Those who do not seek Jesus are dead; they are dry bones.

But those who have died, in Jesus, can live again.

This is why Jesus said in John 5:25

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.

If a physically dead person can no longer hear, then this means it’s a spiritual death.

Whoever is disconnected from God by hearing the Word of the Lord Jesus will begin to live. It’s a blessing from God for mankind.

In Ezekiel 37, God revealed why the people of Israel became “dry bones”. Because of what came out of their mouths, Behold, they say, Our bones are dried up, our hope is destroyed, we are lost!

What they confessed, what came out of their mouths, is what happened to them. Whatever they thought was wrong, it finally happened.

God created us in his image, and God’s image is a blessed image.

Most of the time, what we are today is what we say.

Negative words and thoughts destroy the image of God in you.

The mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart. [Matthew 12.34]

When the heart is full of bad things, the mouth will speak bad words. When there is a lot of bitterness and frustration in the heart, the mouth will speak words of repugnance and frustration…

And when God sees all this, He says the person is dead. The word of God gives life, but the word of the world gives death.

He who uses life will live, and he who uses death will die.

Proverbs 18.21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

The people of Israel used death, they cursed themselves, they thought badly of themselves, they had only negative words in their mouths: “is this going to succeed, am I good, when I go there they’ll reject me, what I’m doing isn’t succeeding, even when I try it doesn’t work…”.

Bad thoughts, negative words, complaints brought Israel into the valley.

The valley is an image of desolation, discouragement and frustration…

All these evil thoughts and words are what destroyed Israel.

As God’s people, we need to develop good thoughts and good words. We mustn’t develop bad imaginations, we mustn’t imagine that the devil is in your house while God is there, don’t imagine failure, or that the devil is victorious while Jesus is with you. For it is these evil thoughts that activate the devil.

The Lord showed Ezekiel the spiritual state of Israel. Because of their lamentations, they ended up dying spiritually.

After prophesying, life returned. It’s a prophetic image of what Jesus is doing.

The wages of sin is death, but God’s free gift is eternal life.

Those who sin will die, but those who listen and follow God’s Word will live.

We are in this time and we must strip ourselves of all sin.

We must pray for forgiveness for all the evil thoughts and words that come out of our mouths. And cancel them in Jesus’ name.

We must develop good thoughts; learn to sanctify our spirit and soul.
