You are a new person in Jesus Christ.

The new man must feed and grow. We must walk in the mentality of the new man. The old man has to die, we don’t have to feed him anymore.

This is Passover, when Jesus delivered us. Not only are our sins forgiven by Christ’s sacrifice, but we are delivered for life. He has given us a high position in that we are children of God, and we live by Him. So we can confuse the whole world.

Colossians 3

9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,

10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,

There are 2 men: the old man and the new man.

The old man is what we were at the moment of birth until the day we actually met Christ. The old man lived a life of sin.

The works of the old man are evil:

5 Therefore put to death the members that are on the earth, fornication, uncleanness, passions, evil desires, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

6 It is because of these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of rebellion,

7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.

8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,

But the activities of the new man, who is God’s chosen :

10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,

12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering.

Jesus came because we were living the life of sin, the life of the old man. But this old life, this life of sin and death, Jesus took upon Himself. And he gave us his life of purity.

The new man is born of God, not of the flesh, of the relationship between a man and a woman.

When a woman is pregnant, it’s the child’s body that develops in her womb, because the spirit is already ready.

So when life enters the mother’s body, the child’s body begins to form in the mother’s womb. This happens immediately, although the woman doesn’t know she’s pregnant until thirty days later.

When we speak of life, we speak of spirit, for life is spiritual.

When the child grows up, the life in that person is still intact. Unfortunately, with this life, the person began to sin. And life became dirty. This person has therefore become a sinner. But sin leads to death.

A person who lives in sin is spiritually dead.

So the spirit that is dead can no longer have relations with God, nor have victory on this earth. It’s just not possible. Such a person is therefore in the realm of those who have died including Satan.

That’s why Jesus came to save this person. And it is this person who is called the old man in this passage from Colossians 3:9.

And when Jesus came, there was an exchange between the old man and the new man Jesus gave. This person received a new life and Jesus took away his sin, his old life. This is how Jesus, having been found guilty, went to the cross.

He who has become the new man can no longer die, for he has received the life that comes from God.

This life does not come from the fruit of man and woman, but from God. It’s more powerful, more sophisticated, more entitled than the old life. A person who has this new life is able to dominate over this world, over the devil and his agents.

Whoever has this life is called a child of God.

He immediately became a child of God because he was born, he came from God. The same way Christ comes out of God.

It’s this new life or new man that we have to live with.

It is this new man who must be in charge of everything, growing, thinking, speaking within us. His language must be one of kindness and mercy.

The language of the old man is a language of malice and selfishness.

And the two don’t have to live in the same body.

Those who maintain both, will have a conflict, will not be able to live with God. Spiritual life will not be stable. One day they’re happy, the next they’re worried. The new man will want to go to church, but the old man will say no, I’m tired. That’s what conflict is all about.

That’s why we only need to nurture the new man we’ve become in Jesus. And let the old man die completely every day.

When you don’t feed the old man, he weakens. How did we feed the old man? By evil. Thinking evil, planning to return evil to someone, being anxious/worried, coveting, holding on to anger, seeing yourself as greater than others. So by nurturing everything that’s bad in words and language.

So by stopping feeding the old man, we’re going to make him die.

How to live with the new man?

By doing what is right, by having thoughts only on what is honorable, right, pure… to life with God. Philippiens 4.4

Develop thoughts of joy, not bitterness or sadness.

Don’t think that heaven is going to fall on your head, but think that heaven belongs to God and that God is with me.

In fact, we nourish the new man with the Word of God.

When we read and meditate on the Word, when our thoughts turn to the Word…we are feeding it.

Which means we can feed the new man at any time, so he can grow quickly.

This is Passover, deliverance.

When we eat physical food, we haven’t eaten yet. Because that only strengthens the body. But the new man born in Jesus eats only the Word, for he is born of the Word. And the One who allowed it to exist is called the Word.

The new man has peace, joy, strength, glory…only in the Word.

So it’s practically a “crime” not to feed the new man.

He grows through knowledge, through the revelation God gives, he becomes strong through the instructions God gives him.

The new man is supernatural, he is above the natural, he communicates with God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He hears the things of God’s heart. He never doubts God. It’s powerful for Jesus. He dominates. When the body rests, the new man is at Christ’s feet, communicating with Him.

It is the new man who triumphs, it is he whom God blesses, and who is filled with glory and magnificence.

The old man can never triumph. On the contrary, it causes problems.

This Passover 2025 gives us the opportunity to understand what it really is.

Those who haven’t fully understood what the Christian life is all about, others since their conversion, or those who have been going round in circles for many years of lamenting need to seize this opportunity to let go of the past and start a new foundation with God.

Redeemed, you must decide to feed the new man and decide never to feed the old man again. And ask for God's grace on the new man.
