What is hope?

We could define hope as the fact of hoping, of expecting with confidence the realization in the future of something favorable, generally precise or determined, that we wish, that we desire.
It can be a hope for happiness, for healing, for success.

The hope in our hearts should start in front of many unexpected and difficult situations.

However, when faced with a divorce, the loss of a loved one, abandonment by loved ones,   misunderstanding in relationships, the verdict of a serious illness…

what do we do?

The seasons of life are diverse.

The path of life is strewn with pleasant moments but we can also encounter pitfalls. Indeed, according to the stages of life, the daily life of each human being is full of events, some very good and some not so good.
Some situations can seem hopeless and make us believe that there is nothing left to hope for in life and sometimes even that death is the only possible outcome.

Is there really no way out?

A widowed woman in Nain was faced with a humanly hopeless situation.
Luke 7,11. Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd. 12. And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. 13. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” 14. Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” 15. So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.

Jesus Christ was passing by and stopped in front of this woman’s situation. A woman who was not only a widow, but also burying her only son.
This meant for her to bury her whole life, her hopes, all that she could have built, were now in a coffin.
The Lord Jesus saw this and stopped her just as she was about to bury everything that was important to her in life.

Your life is precious to the Lord.

In her sadness, this woman had not noticed that someone that day had stopped to consider her story. This person was a life-bearer, this person was the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
He didn’t look at what he was, or at the taboos, but he touched the coffin. Meaning, I take it upon myself to take you out of your problems, I take it upon myself to raise this child…for your life is precious to me.

And the moment that child came back to life, the hope of this lady came back too.

So what to do now?

Even as you read this message, the Lord Jesus Christ is stopping you in your tracks because you are important to him.

And he wants to give you hope and life.

Jesus said in John 10,10 «The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. »

If you believe in Jesus Christ of Nazareth, there is nothing on this earth that can make you lose hope because he lives forever and nothing and no one can uproot him.

It is possible for you today to come to Jesus Christ, who gives life and gives hope by praying this prayer:

« Lord Jesus, I have heard your word, I believe that you love me.
I ask your forgiveness for all my sins. Blot out my sins with your precious blood.
I renounce all evil ways. I want to follow your Way, your Word and have Life.
I accept you as my Lord and Savior in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen »
There is still hope
