Apostle BILLEY.
Mark 4.
35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”
36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.
37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.
38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm
40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
41And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
Everything Jesus does is for a purpose, to deliver us, to add something to our lives,
There’s a reason why it goes this way and not that…
Everything He is, everything He says…is Life. There’s nothing dead about us.
He said I am life, for all in Him is life.
When Jesus touches, he transfers life.
His gaze, His presence transfer life, how much more so His word that enters a man’s heart. He will then have the abundance of life.
Jesus chose His disciples, which means that Life chose them.
Whoever has the life of Jesus in Him, no one can take his life.
We need to change the way we think.
When you’re walking or working, you’re not alone. Jesus, who called you, is with you all the time.
Don’t let yourself be distracted by anything on this earth, by any circumstances, this life of Jesus in you is above all situations.
Who can fight against God, against Jesus, against the Holy Spirit?
You are God’s temple. You’re special.
Don’t let any situation get you down. When you’re down, your enemy won’t leave you, he’ll accentuate.
We are spirits in a body. Brothers, don’t fight Life, don’t fight Jesus, for life is in Him.
Let’s not let food manipulate us, nor money, nor problems…for we are spirits.
The problem is something material, so it shouldn’t manipulate us. We have to be on top.
37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.
The whirlpool that has risen is synonymous with trouble.
Where was Jesus? He was in the boat where Jesus was. And it was in this boat that the problem lay.
Let’s understand something deeply, so that our lives can be liberated.
The reason some people can’t keep the alarm clock burning is because they can’t control their lives. Because they let the environment manipulate their lives.
Spiritually, this boat is the symbol of man’s life.
Jesus is life. And He entered the boat, and thus the lives of His disciples.
Pierre and most of them were fishermen. It was with the boat that they went to work to ensure their source of income.
So, the day they allowed Jesus into the boat, they allowed Jesus into their lives.
We call it walking with God, with the Lord.
At a certain point, the boat started having problems.
But when Jesus is there, the problem is a grace in the Christian’s life.
38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. They woke him up and said, “Master, do you not care that we are perishing?
Jesus was asleep and the disciples called out to him because as the water level rose, they must have been panicking.
How do you think they woke Jesus up? Gentle or brutal?
What was the spirit driving these disciples? Was it the spirit of life or another spirit?
It was certainly the spirit of fear.
It’s a lesson in life.
Fear of illness, cancer, stroke, diabetes, rheumatism, growing old, homelessness, lack of money, losing one’s job, fear of retirement without savings, fear of not having children, of never getting married, fear of wanting to separate from one’s spouse…
Jesus is in the boat, Life is in the boat, but there’s a spirit of fear in the boat. Brothers, we must remove this.
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm
The disciples, on the other hand, forcefully awakened him because of the fear in them.
Someone may have Jesus inside them, but in the same life, there’s something else too.
That’s why it’s imperative to know your life so you can call on Jesus, who is the solution.
When Jesus woke up, was he panicked? No, because He is called Life. He’s in control. Life can’t be afraid of death; it’s death that’s afraid of life.
When there’s life, there’s no death.
So Jesus woke up and threatened the wind and silenced the sea.
When we are Christians, there can be problems, difficult moments, but as Christians, we must know that the solution must come from Jesus.
We mustn’t panic but let this situation teach you so that you can grow in God’s way.
Before Jesus calmed the wind, what do you imagine was happening on the disciples’ side?
Certainly, they were screaming, panicking, confused, paralyzed…
40 Then He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? How can you have no faith?
That means it’s illegal for God’s children to be afraid.
Those whom Jesus calls must not be afraid, whatever the reasons.
Faith comes from the certainty of what we have received from Jesus.
There are many of us who, even though Jesus is in them, are unaware of this.
The absence of Jesus creates fear and doubt, whereas the presence of Jesus gives courage and faith.
How can you have Jesus with you always? It’s about remembering who we are, that Jesus redeemed us, we belong to Him spirit, soul and body.
If this is strong in us, there will be no fear but faith based on the Rock.
But the disciples had forgotten who Jesus was.
41 They were very frightened, and said to one another, “Who is this who is obeyed even by the wind and the sea?
Jesus was in their lives, but they didn’t know Him.
When the Christian doesn’t know who is in his life, he will doubt.
In their minds, the disciples had limited Jesus. And those who do this, faced with situations, will be afraid, they will doubt, …
And if they don’t change, their lives will be punctuated by fear every day.
Then the walk with Jesus won’t be effective, it won’t be a walk of intimacy, of experiences because there’s something in the heart that doubts Christ.
Whoever has the solution to the problem is in life, in the boat, but they’re always afraid of the storm. The person with the problem isn’t even aware that it’s the solution that’s in the boat.
The day you received Jesus, the day you let the Word enter you, you received the solution.
Jesus, who is able to do all things, is there; but we Christians are unaware of Jesus’ power. It’s as if He’s not there yet, so doubt creeps in. There’s an obstacle rising in their lives.
Jesus came to this earth only to save us, to free us, to deliver us, to destroy the works of the devil.
Imagine then that same Jesus is in you, in your church, your home, …
So what happens next? Should we oppose Jesus, ignore Him, put Him under the table…?
The disciples were surprised that the sea obeyed Jesus, for they had never seen anything like it.
Beloved, what has Jesus done for you? What’s your testimonial?
It is said of Jesus that through Him all things were created. Nothing was created without Jesus.
So it’s the creator in us. God allowed Jesus to come to earth, it’s for our good, for our upliftment, to deliver us from problems, to instruct us, to deliver us spiritually so that we may be above.
That’s why, brothers and sisters, we must no longer give access to the devil, to doubt, to fear…
But through the Word of God, we must develop this relationship with God. Where Jesus is, there is His glory, His Father. And he chose to be with us, in the temple.
If Jesus calls you, you need to know why He called you. If you don’t know why He called you, you don’t know Him.
Jesus is fast. He wants to deliver, heal and free quickly. He knows everything about us.
How do we want Him to deliver us if we come to Him hesitantly? How can we give Him the glory?
Worry must not be in us; we must be in a state of praise and adoration continually.
