Passover is our opportunity to be forgiven, to be delivered from our sins. It’s the opportunity to be victorious over the power of evil, of sin. Deliverance is not automatic, it’s for those who come to Jesus.
We need to know what sin is, how easily man can cling to sin by listening to the devil’s voice. And to understand that victory is possible through Jesus Christ.
We must never resist the Lord Jesus; we must love Him deeply because He came to save us. Everything Jesus says is for our benefit.
Genesis 3
2 The woman answered the serpent: We eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden.
3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”
Eve came into contact with the serpent. Voice and Word are spiritual.
But when she listened to and accepted the enemy’s suggestion, she received the contamination of her spirit.
That is, the spirit of Eve and the serpent became one. She thus had the spirit of the devil inside her. Her mind was polluted as well as Adam’s.
All human beings on this earth have already been victims of the devil’s works. We’ve already listened to the voice of the serpent without knowing, we’ve let ourselves be influenced, we’ve obeyed him without knowing.
The serpent prevented Eve and Adam from doing what God wanted; he pushed them to do what he wanted.
Every time you’re faced with a situation where you have to choose between good and evil, you’re in front of the tree. Know that the devil will always push you to choose what’s wrong.
Genesis 3
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.
5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
When Eve received the devil’s suggestion, she accepted it in her heart. That’s how she became one with the devil.
How do we become one with Jesus? It’s by receiving His Word.
How does Jesus possess us? By receiving His Word in the heart.
This is also how the devil possesses people, when they listen to what he says.
So Eve was possessed by the serpent and automatically saw things the way he did.
Genesis 3
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Yet she had seen the tree thousands of times before without desiring to eat its fruit, for the Word of God was in her; her spirit and the Spirit of God were one. But when she listened to the devil’s voice, she began to covet the fruit.
Lust is a sin. Some people have lots of shoes and clothes, but they never stop spending to get more. This too is the lust of the eyes, to desire to obtain everything one sees.
When Eve ate that fruit, and gave it to her husband. Automatically, they began to fear and fled God’s presence. They have been contaminated by the snake.
All those who do not seek God, who do not listen to the Lord, have in fact been contaminated by the serpent.
Genesis 3
9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”
12 The man answered, “The woman you gave me gave me some of the tree, and I ate it.
13 And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
This contamination by the devil caused them to start accusing each other.
No one admitted fault. This is always the case when a person is contaminated by the serpent.
And so Adam and Eve’s destiny was completely hijacked by the serpent.
Genesis 3
23 therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.
24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
Unfortunately, even when they left the garden, the serpent’s venom was still inside Adam and Eve. And this is what contaminated mankind all the way back to the time of Noah, to Psalm 78 and even to us.
That’s why the Father sent Jesus Christ of Nazareth, so that anyone who recognizes their faults, repents and forsakes them can obtain His forgiveness, His mercy.
Adam lost everything, his authority, his glory, his reign, his position, his family was in chaos, his eldest son killed his brother…
Total confusion because of sin. So much so that in Genesis 6, demons even had relations with women, giants were born of them and the human race was thus defiled.
The devil hijacks destinies, destroys lives. God’s beauty in Adam was completely seized by the serpent.
Beloved, if your beauty has been seized, the blood of Jesus is available for you to be forgiven, to be restored.
