The problem of this world from Adam to this day is the problem of disobedience to God, that’s sin.
We need to understand that a man’s problem is not a lack of money, equipment or cars, a lack of a diploma, a lack of school education, but it’s rebellion against God, it’s disconnection with his Creator, it’s the absence of God, it’s when he thinks he can do things on his own without reference to what God has said…
The problem is not having a lot of money either, but always the absence of God, and when he has a lot of money, he feels self-sufficient and therefore turns away from God.
Man’s disconnection from God makes him weak and vulnerable. A car without an engine can’t go anywhere, can’t function.
Genesis 3 is where the evil began, where the serpent had a communication with Eve in front of the tree.
The serpent is a metaphor for the devil, who is a spirit without a body. So Satan wasn’t there physically with Eve but spiritually; and he was injecting her with suggestions.
Eve thus conversed with the serpent in her thoughts. And without discerning, she accepted the voice of the serpent urging her to disobedience.
From time immemorial, the devil’s way has been to push man to go against God’s will, to focus on himself, whereas the first commandment is to love God. The serpent knows that by doing this, the person will not be able to walk with God.
God Himself could have destroyed the devil, Lucifer, when he disobeyed; but He didn’t so that it would be His children who would bind and destroy the works of the serpent, using His authority in Jesus’ name. For the devil thinks he is great, but if it is God’s children who destroy him. Let’s imagine the picture.
So let’s know that God is pleased whenever we use His authority to destroy the enemy.
And in any case, at the end of time, in the apocalypse, the devil will be seized and thrown out.
Genesis 3
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
When Eve listened to the voice of the serpent, she was contaminated. She thus became one with the devil because she accepted his word. (Just as we accept Jesus by accepting His Word)
And from that moment on, all the children Eve had, all mankind had a sinful nature; For the blood was polluted by evil.
That’s why you can’t teach a child to lie, to steal, to get angry, to hide his faults…
He will do all these things of himself, that is the sinful nature.
Genesis 3
8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden
9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
Sin disconnects us from God, it creates fear, it makes us accuse others…
Brothers, we must take responsibility for our sins and repent before the Lord and get rid of it all.
We must pay attention to the voice that speaks to us, and know how to discern it.
How do you discern in concrete terms?
Take this example:
It’s offering time, you’ll hear: “Don’t give 200, 100 dollars. No, that’s too much, give 5, 10 or 20 dollars instead…”
Who gave you the $20 suggestion? Is it God, is it yourself? No.
It’s an inspiration you’ve received from the serpent because he doesn’t want you to reconnect with God through your offerings.
Another example:
You walk out of the church after the service, and you find $100 on the floor. What happens next? You’ll start getting suggestions.
The voice of God will tell you: “It’s for someone… Give someone in charge to make announcements, to find the owner, he must be at church…”
But the voice of the devil will tell you: “Take it, it’s for you, because you’ve seen the ground, it’s God who has given you, there’s no one around you…”
These are like ideas, suggestions, impressions in themselves… it’s not always an audible voice.
For Adam and Eve, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was a tree.
But in our example: money, in this case, represents the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
So when the person uses this money, they’ve just bitten the fruit of the tree.
But if the person hands over the money, and gives to someone in charge, they have just eaten the fruit of life. It’s the tree of life.
Consider the following:
You meet someone you know and they don’t say hello.
Then you’re going to hear voices: “Don’t greet him, by the way, take off his phone number, cut off the contact…” That voice is that of the snake.
And if you agree to listen to this voice, you will be biting into the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the fruit of the tree of death.
But if you say to yourself: “God told me to love even my enemies, they’re still my brother, they’re still my sister, it doesn’t matter…” Then by doing so, you’ll be eating the fruit of the tree of life.
In the world, when people talk about the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and an apple is mentioned. It’s not about the fruit – the apple. All the fruit God has created is edible.
Still others say that because Adam and Eve had sex, it created sin. That’s not true either.
The tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the fruit of which God speaks is at the spiritual level.
Other case :
You go to the gas station, and realize that you’ve been able to fill up the car without having to introduce your payment card.
Since you haven’t paid yet, the voice of the snake will suggest that you leave without paying. But he who has the Spirit of God in him, will say, no I won’t leave without paying for what I’ve taken. And he’ll go into the store to pay his bill.
Everywhere, we’ll always see any kind of situation at work, in the family, in marriage, relationships… where the snake will seek to pollute us. However, many fail to keep God’s Word, because they allow themselves to be deceived at every turn by the serpent.
You need to know these things so that you no longer give access to the serpent, but resist him. So you'll be able to keep your blessing, your position, your authority, your power in Jesus' name.
